There was 2 distinct areas of this early works project – Tabbimoble and Lang Hill.

  • More than 200,000m3 of onsite cut/fill/borrow
  • Treatment and processing of more than 10,000m3 of acid sulphate material
  • Creek diversions and realignment of waterways identified as an endangered fish habitat for the Oxleyan Pygmy Perch.
  • Bridge embankment construction including spill through materials
  • Design and construct of permanent intersections
  • Design and construction of creek crossings for heavy vehicles during construction
  • Import of 82,000m2 of drainage rock
  • Use of an Xcentric ripper to excavate 40,000m3 of hard sandstone
  • Crushing and screening operation established to process sandstone
  • Clearing and processing more than 22,000m3 that was ultimately used in power generation
  • Detailed planning and sequencing required to minimise impact on existing Pacific Highway motorists
